This Week's Happenings:
Language Arts: We are currently reading about Ancient Rome. We will read about Roman mythology this week. In our word work we will work with the past and present tense of linking verbs (is, was, are am, have has, had). We are working on a opinion writing about what disguise we think would be best for a turkey during the Thanksgiving season.
Math: We are taking our test on chapter 4 and multiplication and will start chapter 5. In this chapter we will explore patterns in multiplying, find unknown factors in multiplication equations and revisit the distributive property to help us solve larger multiplication problems ( 4x30).
Spelling: Our spelling words this week have spellings for the long sound of 'e'. These words include: secret, cedar, create, tedious, meter, asleep, seed, succeeded, speech, agreed. The challenge words are: except, follow. The bonus word for this week is: Psyche (This is a name from one of the Roman myths we will read).
