Tuesday, March 31

Welcome:  Welcome to Tuesday, the last day of March.  Here we go!

Reading:  We will start are Unit 8 reader today.  For this activity you will need a graphic organizer to do our preread activity.  Watch this video before you read.  After you have filled in the graphic organizer, go to the Unit 8 reader and read chapter 1, "Etu, the Hunter".

Skills:  Today in our skills activity, we will review singular possessive nouns and then will work with plural possessive pronouns.  You will need to get your Unit 7 workbook (I gave this to you yesterday) and get out activity 14.1, page 135 and PP11, page 197.  Watch this video for instructions and then finish the pages.

Math:  Our math focus today is problem solving questions about elapsed time.  The strategy you will use is a number line using the rocks, hills and mountain strategy.  You have a virtual clock to use in the Links bar.  First, I want you to click on the go math link in the link bar and choose chapter 10 and then do lesson 10.5 in the student interactive book.  We will do the actual paper pages in your book tomorrow.  After you have completed that lesson try to do as many problems on the time math packet on pages 5,6,7 as you can.  Don't worry if you do not finish it today.  You can go back to it other days if needed.  You also have times tables practice pages.  Take time to work on the times table you are trying to pass off.  To pass off a times table, you will need to complete the sheet of times tables correctly in 3 minutes.   If you pass off a times table, email me so I can mark you off.  If you have passed off all of your times tables, keep practicing them so they can stay fresh in your mind.

Learning and Listening:  You will read about how the lives of Ancient Native Americans changed over time as they moved to different regions in North America.  You will need your listening and learning booklet to do this activity.  Find page 2, "Changing Ways of Life", so you will be ready to fill in the blanks during the listening and learning lesson.  Next, watch the video and listen for the answers to the questions on page 2.  Finally, watch this video to check you answers.


Read Aloud:  We will read chapter 8 in "My Father's Dragon". Click here to enjoy the story!
