We are off to another week of great learning.

Monday, April 6

Welcome:  Let's get going!  click here.

Reading:  First, you will need to get your Ancient Native American workbook and turn to the 'Artifacts' page.  We will draw some artifacts from the story "Adoette and Awan".  Click here for this activity.
Next,  we will read chapter 3 in our reader.  It is titled "Akando and Aponi, the Gatherers".  Let's start with a prereading activity.  You will need a new graphic organizer for this activity.  Click here for the activity.   After filling in the graphic organizer you will need to read chapter 3.

Writing:  Let's start our paragraph about chapter 2.  For this activity you will need your graphic organizer from our reading of  "Adoette and Awan".  You will also need your Ancient Native American workbook.  This is the same book you did your writing about "Etu and the Hunter".  Click here for the writing prompt.  You can print it off if you would like, but you can watch the instructions without it. We will use it today in our writing as we deconstruct our prompt, sequence our graphic organizer, and write a topic sentence.
Click here for our writing activity.

Math:  We will do the go math interactive student edition.  You will need your 600 number that is also your password for  khan academy.  Get this number and have it ready for this activity.  I have included a video with instructions that will help you do the instruction part and the personal trainer activity.  It is activity 10.6 from chapter 10.  Click here for the video. I want you to try this.  It will be about measuring with a ruler to the nearest 1/2 and 1/4 inch.  You will also review making a line plot with your measurements.

First, watch this instruction video, then do the activity and follow the instructions so you can access the whole activity.
Also, go to xtramath and practice your math facts.

Listening and Learning:  To get started you will need your booklet to fill in as we do our listening and learning lesson today.  Turn to page 4, "Native Americans of the Southwest, Part 1".  Be ready to listen for the answers.  Click here for the lesson.    After the lesson, click here to check your answers.  Next, get out your Ancient Native American workbook and turn to the next "Region" page.  Watch this video for this activity.
