Iron County Pre-Schools thru 6th Grade STUDENTS

As per instructions from government and health professionals we are postponing the Mountain Eye Institute’s Kite Flight & Community Health Fair that was scheduled for April 25, 2020.   We will stay in contact as the situation  changes.

• Kite Flight is Postponed
• Kid’s READING continues with reading minutes recorded on their Reading Charts
• Health Fair portion is canceled for this year
• The Kites, Books and Movie Passes are awaiting redemption of your completed Reading Charts.

Welcome:  Today is Wednesday!  Let's get going on this awesome day!  Click here to begin.

Reading  Our first activity will be adding artifacts in our Ancient Native American book for the story "Akando and Aponi, the Gatherers".  Get out your Ancient Native American workbook and turn to the artifacts page.  Click here for instructions.  Today we will start chapter 4 "Alemeda, the Basket Weaver".  This story will take us to the Southwest region of North America.  Let's start with our prereading activity.  Get out a new graphic organizer to be ready for this activity.  Click here to begin.  After filling in your graphic organizer for today, go to the unit 8 reader and find page 34, chapter 4.  Read this chapter pages 34-41.  

Writing:  If you have not finished writing your paragraph, do that now.  Next, do an illustration for your paragraph.  Watch this video for the activity.  

Math:  W will continue with our measuring to the nearest 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch and creating line plots with the measurements.  You will need to  get out lesson 10.6 and be ready to begin where we left off.  You will need your ruler and a blank piece of paper for your assignment today.  Click here for the lesson.  to do # 6 on today's assignment, watch the Math on the Spot video.  After you have finished the practice page, click here to check your work.

Listening and Learning:  To begin this activity, get out your booklet and turn to page 5 " Native American of the Southwest Part II".  Have this ready for the Listening and Learning lesson today.
